Central Michigan Amateur Radio Club

If you missed the 2010 CMARC Youth Program, you're still in luck! All of the information Corey announced is available in the Power Point Presentation that was presented. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, as always please don't hesitate to contact Corey.

The 3 main topic discussed and announced at the meeting were:

1. The Holt High School Communications Club HAS A ROOM! All equipment security details are available in the powerpoint.

2. The MRAY Net is moving back to the 145.390 Okemos repeater on Thursday nights at 8:00 PM as of the first week of August. We will be welcoming back ALL hams regardless of age! We will also once a week be turning on Echolink for the net! We will be able to accept check-ins from hams of all ages from around the world! We will have Echolink and the local repeater to help attract Hams, but we will also now have a LIVE Webcam during the net. This will be a way for young hams or interested hams to not only listen to the net, but see what the net control is doing and see exactly what its like to be net control!

3. As of Wednesday June 7th, Corey has been appointed as an Assistant Section Manager of the ARRL! In his new capacity Corey will be assisting Michigan clubs in involving the youth more and establishing Clubs like the Holt High School Club, and using what he has done as an example! (If it is not on the Michigan Section site it will be updated soon!). A monthly newsletter will be published and lots of other exciting things!

All of this information is available in the Power Point in detail, and how they all conect together! It was a great meeting and the food was wonderful!

Help OUR Growing Club By Joining the Building Maintenance Team!

Dan Beuchert (KD8MOJ) has been appointed as the Building Maintenance Coordinator. Dan even as a new ham has taken the iniciative to help better our club by heading up this new service for CMARC. This will include set up prior to meetings as well as tear down and clean up after the meetings each month. The job is not easy and even with several people helping can take 10-20 minutes after each meeting. But with a good team of people this task could take only a few minutes.

This is a very important job as well and Dan could use all the help he can get. If you would like to get involved in club activites, whether you're new to the club or you've been around for years, this is a place to start! Please email Dan to sign up and joing the team.
