Hello Friends!
I want to start off by thanking Sharon Waite KD8HHK for all of the hard work and service she dedicated to the Central Michigan Amateur Radio Club over the past THREE YEARS! She has led us through a lot of un-easy times with a move to a new location and various other battles. She managed as a voice of calm reason at a time that we certainly needed it. Let's all be sure to give a virtual round of applause and be sure to thank her the next to you see her (or send her an email)!
Next I want to thank all of YOU, the members of CMARC who voted me on as a Director to the Board. I have been honored to serve and learn as the Under 22 Director for over 4 years with several different directors and boards all brining their own unique traits to the table. I am honored and very excited to be appointed as the President of the Central Michigan Amateur Radio Club for 2012 and will commit to doing what is best for the club.
We have a lot of exciting things ahead of us. But, like most things in life, it's not going to come easy. This is YOUR club, and each of us needs to contribute to our future success in growing our membership, and getting more licensed Amateur Radio operators in our community. Over the next year I hope to try new and exciting things, but I know that not everything will come easily. Sometimes you have to fall on your face a couple times before you can continue walking forward, and although I have high hopes that any work we do will be successful, I'm prepared for the good and bad times.
I'm ready and excited for the challenge, but will definitely need lots of help! We have various personalities and skills that can be utilized to help the club to succeed, and I hope you will consider helping in anyway possible. Every little bit helps! Once again thank you, and let's have a great year together!
